Lovely place, with even lovelier people!

Stayed in the Wye Knot Stop with my gf and two friend as we were attending a wedding in Llangoed Hall. Perfect location as the Llangoed hall is a 4min drive up the road. My gf and I stayed in the apartment outside the B&B. It was spotlessly clean and cosy. Lovely tea and coffee facilities and a VERY COMFY bed. Did I mention how comfy the bed was?! Jonathan also made sure our heating was on by the time we came home, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was good, coffee was great and the cosy cafe was a pleasure to sit in! Finally, in my hungover state, I forgot my phone charger in the apartment and only realised when I got home. I called Jonathan who was so helpful, he posted my charger the very next day and saved my life! Lol Thanks again for everything guys! Hope to see you both…

Wonderful place to stay

I stayed at the ‘Why Not Stop’ during my walk along the Wye Valley. I have passed by several times in a car so this was my first time visiting. It was an absolute delight with the hosts being wonderful – they couldn’t have done more to make me feel welcome. The breakfast was excellent. I will be back.

Amazing Cafe and Bed and Breakfast

Stopped off here on the way back from Pembrokeshire. An outstanding place. Lovely food, welcoming and friendly and the young man who served us was superb. The food was fabulous and the Brownies were out of this world. A real hidden gem.

Very friendly and comfortable

Stopped the night with brother and his Sprocker after finishing the Welsh Three Peaks. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Lovely coffee shop with nice cakes and a great seating area out front filled with colourful hanging baskets and lavender. En suite room was excellent, clean, cosy and well equipped. Topped off with a great breakfast next morning. Really good visit and will definitely return if I’m in the area again.

Wonderful cafe!

Lovely staff, a great selection of teas, and dog-friendly! We love this little stop on our way back to Cardiff from Mid-Wales! They have parking round the back of the cafe too which makes stopping in much more convenient.

Another visit to the best cafe in Wales

For food quality, service, ambiance, value for money, this lovely little restaurant has always hit the perfect note. We love it here. So its a little out of the way. IT IS WORTH THE SHORT DRIVE. I would travel twice as long for the gorgeous meal i had today. The food was all fresh and perfectly cooked. My husband had welsh rarebit and i had the fillet steak both with a side order of salad and slaw with the house dressing. Simple perfection. we finished off with devils food cake , which was the best i have EVER HAD! I cant wait to go back again! Thank you so much Paola and Jonathan

Amazing B&B!

This is the second time I’ve stayed and would recommend it to anyone! Really comfortable food, amazing staff and in a beautiful location. I’ve stayed in both rooms and they’re both lovely – really comfy beds and so clean! Would definitely come back again and again! Gracias Paula y Jon! X

We have been here 3 times now and always the same high standards are readily found. A definite stop on our trips through Brecon. Welcomed by Paola and her warm service, and Jonathan’s 5-star food is always something we look forward to. **Wye Knot Stop needs more ‘foodies’ to visit – guaranteed you will not be disappointed!** Keep up the good work, and we’ll be seeing you again soon.

Great quiet night

The room is excellent and though we didn’t use it , always handy to have an extra bed. It was large and it was good to have a sofa too. Handy for the Hay festival as only just down the road and with very welcoming hosts. Breakfast was fab.

I have visited this establishment on several occasions with my elderly mum and have never been disappointed. My mother has mobility problems and it is greatly appreciated that the owner will open the door for us when she sees us. She always greets us warmly remembering my mums menu choice (which does not change). In addition to the menu there is a specials board, portion sizes are generous. The salads accompanying the meals are fresh and tasty and I can also recommend the Sunday lunches.

The drive to the cafe is through lush and rolling countryside which was a real treat in itself!
Jonathan and Paola are perfect hosts. The cafe is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The food is delicious, we were there for lunch I had a pulled pork sandwich and my husband had a ham and cheddar panini and the best coffee he has had in Wales. Both sandwiches were served with the most delicious salad. Salad is often a garnish. This salad was a thing of beauty on its own. Fresh and colourful and crisp. With a delicate and flavorful dressing. I could have had it all by itself! We finished our meal off with a beautiful Victoria sandwich served with fresh fruit. All the food is prepared by Jonathan, and you can tell that a lot of care goes into every element. Can’t wait to go back. What a find!

Stopped over on the Wye Valley Walk and received a warm welcome with excellent rooms. Breakfast was up there with the best and the coffee worth a visit on its own account.
Packed lunches were provided along with the offer to fill our flasks. There were sufficient sandwiches for the next day too!
Having left my jacket in the wardrobe, the offer to post it home was immediate and duly carried out.

This has turned in to our regular place to eat. The food was a real surprise – really tasty – beautifully cooked meals at an amazing price. Lovely cakes and coffee and a really friendly welcoming atmosphere. The main room is warm and cozy with a log burner lit in the winter and there is always good music on in the background. The owners are a lovely couple and always a joy to see. We used to visit other local cafes in the area but find it difficult to drive past this one! We haven’t stayed there as we are local but I imagine it would be a great place to stay.

Amazing place. Friendly and welcoming. The food is out of this world. I have been here several times, and can honeslty say that this is the best cafe in the area. Be it breakfast, lunch, tea or just a coffee and cake. I strongly recommend if your passing pop in you’ll love it xxx

We stayed here for two nights on business and were overwhelmed by the welcome and quality of the hospitality. The room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was of a very high quality with outstanding coffee. We shall be back. Many thanks.

Stopped at the Wye Knot with friends for one night. Rooms were good. Jonathan and Paola really looked after us. Had an early dinner, soup and pork which, which was very tasty, accompanied by some inexpensive, good quality wine. Breakfast, which was included in the room rate was a choice of cereals, including a good muesli, followed by a hearty fry up. To top it all Jonathan made us a fantastic pack up for the hill. Would definitely recommend.

I stayed overnight (with my dog) in mid-October 2016. I was made really welcome by Jonathan and Paola, the room was lovely, there was fresh milk as well as UHT for making drinks with, plus a slice of the most delicious cake. The bed & bedding was great, so I slept well. Breakfast was really excellent, cereal, full-english fried meal, wholemeal toast plus fresh tea and real coffee. Fully deserve all five stars, I recommend this place unreservedly.

Found this Café on our travels on the 8th September. Stopped for lunch and the service, food and prices were excellent. Both Jonathan and Paulo offered superb service. Well worth a visit. My wife and I had lunches plus a drink and the cost was £20.50. They should charge more for the quality of food they provide.
